It’s Tuesday and I am so excited to share this recipe with you because it is a staple recipe in our house. Seriously, I make pancakes for supper at least once every week. Yeah, we have breakfast for supper. 🙂
This recipe though, it’s awesome and very hard to screw up. I can honestly tell you, even my husband gets professional pancakes from this recipes and he’s terrible at making them!
Never Fail Pancakes
- 2 Cups sifted flour (I never sift mine and they still turn out great)
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 6 Tablespoons melted shortening (I use butter)
Sift flour once and then measure. Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into a large mixing bowl. (I do not take the time to sift all my ingredients together either and they all turn out just fine. I believe they would just be even more fluffy if sifted.)
Beat eggs and add milk and melted shortening. Combine with dry ingredients and beat. Heat griddle or heavy frying pan until a drop of water bounces on it.
Fry until bubbles appear on cakes and begin to look dry. Turn and finish baking.
